Journey Home Video - 2024
In 2024, we hosted the Journey Home Breakfast fundraiser in person for the first time since 2020. The 19th annual event included a video featuring seven Abode clients: Mark, Louis, Kimberly, Geno, Bernice, Harold, and Julie.
In the seven-minute video, each client shared their personal story about overcoming challenges that led to them experiencing homelessness before they gained and kept permanent housing with Abode’s help.

“At Home” - 2023
Abode’s 18th annual Journey Home Breakfast premiered online on March 3, 2023. The nearly 24-minute program features four Abode participants who discuss their personal journeys from experiencing homelessness to gaining and keeping a home. Emceed by former Fremont Vice Mayor Anu Natarajan, the video fundraiser also includes comments from Abode leader Louis Chicoine; Director of Community Outreach Jean Morgan; and Abode Board President Tarrah Henrie.

“At Home” - 2022
Abode’s 17th annual Journey Home Breakfast premiered online on March 4, 2022. The 27-minute program features current and past Abode participants who discuss their personal journeys from experiencing homelessness to gaining and keeping a home. Emceed by former Fremont Councilmember David Bonaccorsi, the video fundraiser also includes comments from Abode leader Louis Chicoine and Ken Smith, an Abode board member and former board president.

“At Home” - 2021
Abode’s 16th annual Journey Home Breakfast, which premiered March 5, 2021, was held online for the first time ever. This nearly 30-minute video program shares stories of Abode participants and how Abode has helped formerly homeless families and individuals move from homelessness into a home. It also features comments from Abode leader Louis Chicoine and Home Builders Society member Thuy Fontelera, as well as a performance by vocalist Netta Brielle.

Luis’s Journey Home
