Mike Malekzadeh
Director of Facilities

Mike came to Abode with more than 10 years of facility management experience. In his previous role as Abode’s regional facilities manager, he led a team of technicians, managers, and supervisors and was responsible for developing and meeting annual maintenance budgets of varying sizes to fit the agency’s needs. Mike is a strong advocate of using data, reporting, and analytics to help Abode in its mission to end homelessness.

In his role as director of facilities, Mike oversees all routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance of agency-wide equipment and mechanical systems, as well as the management of utilities, construction, and energy. He oversees Abode’s staff related to facilities, maintenance, and health and safety, and coordinates maintenance functions for capital projects, office relocations, janitorial services, fire safety, roofing, HVAC, and plumbing repairs. He also directs facilities and maintenance functions with accreditation and re-accreditation efforts. Mike plans and manages safety programs and policies, as well as conducting risk assessments and hazard analyses. He coordinates all monthly, quarterly, and annual inspections, while establishing and maintaining policies and procedures for maintenance-related events, projects, health and safety, ergonomics, fleet management, and security.
