Ways to Give

There are several ways you can show your support for Abode — whether you are a company leader looking for a philanthropic partnership for your business or an individual looking to give back to those less fortunate in your community.

Abode has multiple avenues in which you can give, including our Home Builders Society, the Building Blocks program, and the Harriet Despeaux Legacy Circle.

LEGACY GIVING

Harriet Despeaux Legacy Circle

Harriet Despeaux was a dedicated supporter of Abode, aiding us for years as a board member, volunteer, and stakeholder. In fact, Harriet ensured her support would continue long after she passed away by leaving us a gift in her estate plan.

In her honor, we established the Harriet Despeaux Legacy Circle to recognize those donors who have included Abode in their will or trust.

We recognize Legacy Circle members in our newsletters, email blasts, as well as with invitations to special events. You can read our list of Legacy Circle members through this link.

CORPORATE GIVING

Regularly Scheduled Gifts

Make an ongoing monthly or yearly donation to Abode. These pledges help us plan our future budgets. We provide recognition opportunities for organizations that donate $5,000 per year and above.

Event Sponsorships

When you sponsor an Abode event, you are publicizing your organization’s commitment to social responsibility. Our sole annual fundraiser, the Journey Home Breakfast held each March, puts sponsors’ names in front of hundreds of guests, including business leaders, faith-based organizations, news media, and elected officials.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for our volunteer awards dinner, which is held every other year during Volunteer Appreciation Week.

Community Giving

JOURNEY HOME BREAKFAST - 2024

We were thrilled to host our 19th annual Journey Home Breakfast on March 1, when we hosted the event in person for the first time since 2020.

The Breakfast, Abode’s only fundraiser of the year, was held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Newark-Fremont.

Join the Home Builders Society

The Home Builders Society consists of members of our community who have pledged to annually donate $1,000 or more to Abode for at least five years.

Building Blocks

Please consider joining Building Blocks - our new monthly giving program. Your gift will allow us to take a long-term approach to assisting families and single adults experiencing homelessness.

Read our Wish List online to see which items — such as blankets and canned food, among other things — are most in need. (NOTE: At this time, we are not accepting used clothing, shoes, toys, or books.) North Bay donors can also donate items to help our Napa County clients.
